A survey was carried out on the gamasoid mite fauna of the common field mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) and the yellow-necked field mouse (A. flavicollis) in Bulgaria. A total of 40 species of mites was found on A. sylvaticus, while 39 species were collected from A. flavicollis. The only specific permanent parasite, Laelaps agilis Koch, accounted for 78.3% of the mites collected from A. sylvaticus and 85.7% of those from A. flavicollis. The most abundant species were found on both hosts.
