Genetic aspects of the improvement of protein content and quality in six-rowed and two-rowed barley

Probleme de Genetica Teoretica si Aplicata 14(2): 119-144

Analysis of data from a four-variety half diallel showed that, in varieties with high grain protein and lysine contents, the system of genetic control of protein content and composition differed from that of normal forms. In the F1, higher protein content was dominant in crosses involving normal varieties, but lower protein content in the high-protein, high-lysine material.
