High temperature shift (HTS) catalyst--dependence of mechanical strength and catalytic activity on pre-tabletting granule size distribution

High temperature shift (HTS) catalyst--dependence of mechanical strength and catalytic activity on pre-tabletting granule size distribution

Fertilizer Technology 18(3/4): 193-195

High temperature shift (HTS) catalyst granule mixtures of different ratios of coarse and fine fraction were compressed to tablets at a constant pressure and corresponding variations in mechanical strength, pore size distribution and catalytic activity under isothermal condition were determined. Results indicate that catalyst tablets of best mechanical strength are obtained from pre-tabletting granules having coarse:fine ratio 65:25.
