High-lead yarding costs in the southern Appalachians

An analysis of time spent in productive working and delay during the first 43 days of a logging operation in North Carolina. Resulting costs per unit vol. were compared with a conventional logging system. The conventional system was slightly cheaper with a difference of $2.85 per thousand bd ft.
