Histo-anatomical studies on crystals in the leaf blades of soyabean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)

Permanent transverse sections of leaf mesophyll were used to study calcium oxalate crystals in 21 soyabean cultivars. Solitary crystals were found and their shape and size is described. The crystals were distributed around the adaxial xylem of thin veins and near ends, but they appeared in the phloem parenchyma on both sides of the xylem in larger veins.
