Histological and cytological investigations of Trifolium repens L. and Plantago major L. after fumigation with the emission complex of NO2, O3 and SO2

Histological and cytological investigations of Trifolium repens L. and Plantago major L. after fumigation with the emission complex of NO2, O3 and SO2

Angewandte Botanik 56(5/6): 295-306

Plants of T. repens and P. major grown in filtered air in a greenhouse were exposed to fumigation for 3 wk with a mixture of NO2, O3 and SO2 at day/night conc. of 55/21, 41/0 and 58/58 mu g/m3, resp. Although both spp. have amphistomatic leaves with weakly differentiated mesophyll, different macroscopic and histological symptoms were apparent.
