Histological and histochemical investigation of the intestine of carp with bothriocephaliasis

Extremely close contact was observed between the entire strobila of Bothriocephalus opsariichthydis and the intestinal mucosa of young carp. The intestinal wall of the carp was thin to the point of breaking. The distribution of nucleic acids, a-amino acids, mucopolysaccharides and alkaline and acid phosphatases at the zone of contact is described.
