Histopathology of cutaneous leishmaniasis

Revista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de Sao Paulo 24(5): 268-276

A histopathological study was made of 149 cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis from the Amazon region (Manaus) and 96 cases from the west central region (Sobradinho), Brazil. Mucous lesions were rare in patients with acute disease, but were present in 50% of chronic cases.
