Holocene versus accelerated actual proton consumption in German forest soils

Holocene versus accelerated actual proton consumption in German forest soils

Effects of accumulation of air pollutants in forest ecosystems: 113-123

Weathering balance studies of 3 Holocene soils and one Riss-Wurm interglacial soil showed average annual proton consumption to amount to 0.9-1.9 and 0.6 kmol ha-1 respectively.
