Honey bee orange flower associations under the weather conditions of early spring in Giza region

Honey bee orange flower associations under the weather conditions of early spring in Giza region

Bulletin of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Cairo 29: 61-90

The activity of honeybees foraging for nectar on orange blossom was studied at two locations, one adjacent to an apiary and the other 1.5 km from it. Both locations showed a negative correlation between quantity of nectar per flower and bee visitation. Visits to the distant location (3.8/m2/min) were mainly correlated with nectar sugar concentration (17.9%) and total number of flowers per m2 (266).
