Hordeum vulgare X Secale cereale crosses as a possible means of obtaining haploids

Hordeum vulgare X Secale cereale crosses as a possible means of obtaining haploids

Nauchno tekhnicheskii Byulleten' Vsesoyuznogo Selektsionno geneticheskogo Instituta (3): 19-22

Respectively 14 and 18 plants were obtained by crossing barley with the ryes Vyatka 2 and Odesskaya Mnogoletnyaya The plants were all haploids of the barley type arising by elimination of the rye chromosomes. Five high-yielding hardy lines of breeding interest were obtained from the haploids by chromosome doubling.
