Horizontal and vertical forces on scarifier shares: the influence of type, width, speed, depth and position in an array

Horizontal and vertical forces on scarifier shares: the influence of type, width, speed, depth and position in an array

Paper presented at Agricultural Engineering Conference 1982 Resources efficient use and conservation Armidale, New South Wales, Australia, 22-24 August 1982: 117-122

Results of force measurements are presented for 2 types of shares, sweeps and darts with depths of 150-300 mm. Speeds were approx 1 and 4 m/s and depths 50-100 mm. Empirical equations are given for the estimation of forces at other speeds and depths.
