Horizontal movement of phorate in different types of soil

Horizontal movement of phorate in different types of soil

Entomon 4(2): 125-128

Phorate when applied to soil as granules moves up to 60 cm/day, the movement and uptake by plants being maximum in sandy soil and less in forest, laterite and red soils in descending order; movement and uptake is very poor in alluvial soil. Maximum movement of the insecticide takes place during the 1st day of application.
