In March, 7 groups, each of 20 lactating females at around 90 days post partum, were given no treatment (controls) or were treated as follows: (1) intravaginal sponges containing 40 mg FGA for 14 days, followed by 400 or 500 IU PMSG; (2) 30-mg sponges for 14 days, followed by 400 or 500 IU PMSG; (3) 30-mg sponges for 12 days, followed by 400 or 500 IU PMSG.
