Housing density and aggression in pigs

Housing density and aggression in pigs

Svinovodstvo (4): 30-31

Data were obtained on pigs housed in groups of 50, 75 and 100 animals, with a floor area of 0.35 or 0.94 m2 per pig. The lowest incidence of aggressive behaviour was observed for pigs in groups of 50 housed at 0.94 m2 per pig, and the highest for groups of 100 housed at 0.35 m2 per pig.
