How long can dermatophytic fungi survive in water of swimming pools?

Dermatologica 165(4): 352-354

Trichophyton rubrum, T. mentagrophytes and Candida albicans survived at least 123 days in chlorinated swimming pool water at 28-30 deg C, at least 18 days in ozonized water at 34-35 deg C and at least 25 days in tap water at room temp. of 23-25 deg C.
