How to keep piglets warm and comfortable

Tests were carried out in farrowing pens with or without straw and heated by infrared bulbs, electric infrared heaters or gas infrared heaters. Floor temperature in the piglet lying area and energy consumption over a 30 day suckling period were calculated for each system.
