Immunocytochemical demonstration of insulin in spontaneous pancreatic islet cell tumors of Fischer rats

Veterinary Pathology 20(3): 291-297

Nineteen spontaneous pancreatic islet cell tumours were studied in 26-month-old control Fischer 344 rats. Seventeen of 19 (89%) tumours had insulin reactivity using peroxidase-antiperoxidase immunocytochemistry. None of ten tumours had positive glucagon immunoreactivity.
