In field trials in 1974-6, potatoes Sokol, Sowa, Pola and Narew were given 140, 280, 420, 560 or 700 kg NPK/ha in the ratio 1.0:1.0:1.5 and the contents of N, P, K, Ca, Fe, Zn and Cu in the tuber DM were determined. Increasing the NPK rate increased the contents of N, P, K and Ca, decreased the contents of Fe, Zn and Cu and increased the N:P, N:K, N:Fe, P:Fe, P:Zn and Ca:P ratios. Tubers of Narew contained less N and K than did those of Sokol and Sowa.
