Involution of the genitals and ovarian function were studied in 110 cows. 5 states of ovarian function in the period between calving and next pregnancy were distinguished on the basis of clinical findings and variations in progesterone concn. in milk, and 5 types of milk progesterone profile, composed of combinations of 2, 3 or 4 of these states, were identified.
