Large-scale irrigation development in Nigeria: the constraint of labour

Nigerian Journal of Agricultural Extension 1(1): 44-57

Based on a questionnaire survey of a sample of 115 household heads in four villages of Kura District in the early 1970s, this paper examines aspects of labour constraint under modern irrigation development, using the Kano River Project Phase I as a case study.
