Lentil crop residues make a difference

A survey of 17 Syrian lentil farmers showed that, on av., crop residues (highly valued as livestock feed) were worth nearly as much as the seed itself (mean residue:seed value ratio was 0.82). There was also a negative correlation between seed yield and the residue:seed value ratio.
