Oats (Avena byzantina)/Italian ryegrass pasture sown in March-April received 75, 150 or 225 kg N/ha as urea at the 5-leaf stage and was rotationally grazed by 12 lactating Holstein cows on an incomplete block switchback design for 84 days. There were no significant differences in daily milk production (11.2-11.4 kg) or composition, or in liveweight although the cows were gaining >1 kg/day.
