Mycoplasma bovis infection in a dairy herd. 3. Serological investigation for antibodies against M. bovis

, : Mycoplasma bovis infection in a dairy herd. 3. Serological investigation for antibodies against M. bovis. Berliner und Munchener Tierarztliche Wochenschrift 96(2): 43-48

Serological studies were carried out on blood and milk serum samples from a dairy herd with prolonged, intractable acute mastitis and arthritis. Antibodies against Mycoplasma bovis were demonstrated by all 3 tests used: indirect haemagglutination (IHA), complement fixation (CFT) and enzyme immunoassay (EIA). IHA and EIA appeared to be more sensitive than CFT and results from these two tests agreed well. Antibodies demonstrated by CFT showed lower titres and disappeared earlier.
