Negative effect of various environmental factors on cows during the puerperal period, and ways of regulating this period

, : Negative effect of various environmental factors on cows during the puerperal period, and ways of regulating this period. Deutsche Tierarztliche Wochenschrift 89(8): 329-333

Puerperal disorders, often leading to impaired fertility, are facilitated by a decrease in adaptability and resistance to disease after calving. This has been demonstrated by means of clinical, bacteriological, hormonal and biochemical investigations on recently-calved cows. The author proposed management measures, particularly optimum conditions for breeding and feeding, for cows during the puerperal period.
