New combination of Wallagotrema longicirrus Tripathi, 1959

, : New combination of Wallagotrema longicirrus Tripathi, 1959. Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Parasitology 2(2): 117-119

Examination of 20 monogeneans from the gills of Wallago attu showed that they belong to Mizelleus. Identical flukes were described as Wallopotrema longicirrus by Tripathi (1959) but they are regarded as Mizelleus on account of the shape and structure of the anchors and bars of the opisthaptor, the unequal marginal hooklets of the Dactylogyrus-type, and the presence of a ribbon-like accessory piece lying parallel to the cirrus.
