Observation on the relative intensity of infection on three species of cultivated citrus plants by Psylla murrayi Mathur (Homoptera: Psyllidae) at Shillong, Meghalaya

Bulletin of the Zoological Survey of Indiarecd 1982; 2(2/3): 123-127

The seasonal incidence in 1976-77 of infestation of Citrus medica, C. acida and sour orange at Shillong in the Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, India, by Psylla murrayi Mathur is described, with special reference to competition from other citrus pests and the effects of predators. Oviposition took place on the inner surface of the young tender leaves, and development to the adult stage was completed before the tender leaves became old. Infestation caused deformation and curling of the leaves.
