Analysis of leaf tissues 20-60 days after sowing in eight varieties resistant or susceptible to Sclerospora graminicola revealed that resistance was associated with (1) a high proportion of peroxidase isozymes with low electrophoretic mobility and/or high molecular weight and (2) a low proportion of esterase isozymes with these same characteristics.
