Pectolytic and cellulolytic activity was max. after 9 days' growth of F. roseum var. avenaceum on liquid Czapek medium containing glucose, pectin, sodium polypectate or carboxymethylcellulose. Enzyme activity was not directly related to the amount of mycelium.
