Propetamphos for the control of sheep scab


, : Propetamphos for the control of sheep scab. Veterinary Record 111(16): 367-367

The results are given of tests in southern England on the effectiveness of propetamphos for the control of Psoroptes ovis (Her.) on sheep. For curative tests, unshorn infested sheep were dipped in washes containing 30, 50, 125 or 200 p.p.m. propetamphos, and in protective tests, unshorn sheep were dipped in 50, 125, 150, 175 or 200 p.p.m.; some uninfested shorn sheep were dipped in 125 p.p.m. Protection was challenged by placing 25 ovigerous mites on the skin of the back at weekly intervals.
