Quality and moisture stress parameters of annual ryegrass X tall fescue and tall fescue X giant fescue hybrids

Quality and moisture stress parameters of annual ryegrass X tall fescue and tall fescue X giant fescue hybrids

Dissertation Abstracts International, B 42(1): 16-17

In vitro DM disappearance was higher in the hybrids than in tall fescue. Under controlled environmental conditions, moisture stress hardening in the hybrids was achieved by 4 different watering regimes. Leaf roll was observed in all hybrids and was directly related to soil moisture and plant water status. Leaves rolled after all growth and most photosynthesis had ceased.
