This Virginia market-type variety, derived from NC Ac3139 X Florigiant, is similar to Florigiant in morphology, habit and maturity. The fruits and seeds are smaller than those of Florigiant. The seeds contain 49% oil and have an oleic : linoleic ratio of 1.84 and an iodine number of 97, compared with corresponding values of 46%, 1.56 and 101 for Florigiant. NC8C has moderate resistance to Cylindrocladium crotalariae and some resistance to Sclerotium rolfsii.
