Studies on the compressibility of wood materials, 4. On the deformation in compression perpendicular to grain of wood saturated with water under repeated load

Studies on the compressibility of wood materials, 4. On the deformation in compression perpendicular to grain of wood saturated with water under repeated load

Bulletin, Utsunomiya University Forests (17): 107-116

Tests were carried out with samples of hinoki and karamatsu (Larix leptolepis), 3X3X1.5 cm. Typical load deformation diagrams are given for water-saturated and re-saturated conditions. Graphs are given showing changes in the constant of proportionality and stress at the proportional limit with cycles of repeated loading in radial and tangential directions. Both of these sets of values are lower and change little in the second cycle of repeated loading.
