Study of nitrate reductase activity in different protein lines of wheat during vegetative and grain development period

Indian Journal of Plant Physiology 24(3): 283-290

Study of nitrate reductase activity in different protein lines of wheat during vegetative and grain development period

Nitrate assimilation capacity of the introduced (from the USA) high-protein wheat Atlas, NapHal and Fronteria was compared with that of local Kalyansona, Moti and HD-4502. Enzyme assays were made on 10 dates between the 3-leaf stage and milky stage of grains. The pattern of nitrate reductase activity at different growth stages was mostly similar in all but the degree of activity was markedly different.
