Study of the determination of crop seed viability using the soft X-ray contrast method

Methods of determining seed viability by soaking in BaCl2 sol. and examining with soft X-rays were investigated. Best conditions for the determination in wheat were soaking for 1.5 h at 30 deg C, for rice 11 h at 40 deg , for maize 12 h at 40 deg , for Vicia faba 1 h at 40 deg and for cotton 8 h at 40 deg.
