Technical analysis on over 1000 jin/mu yield of hybrid rice in ten thousand mu of paddy fields

Technical analysis on over 1000 jin/mu yield of hybrid rice in ten thousand mu of paddy fields

Guangdong Agricultural Science Guangdong Nongye Kexue (4): 11-14

A yield of >1000 jin/mu of 1st crop hybrid rice was obtained on 10 559 mu of paddy fields in Zhanjiang Prefecture, Guangdong in 1981. The major yield components for that high yield were 60 000-120 000 seedlings/mu, 200 000 effective panicles/mu, >100 ripened grains/panicle and a total number of 21 million grains/mu. LAI in the panicle initiation stage was 3-4 and it increased to 5.6-7.6 at the mid- to late-growth stages.
