The effect of storage temperature on the subsequent growth of onion setts and yield of market onions in short-day onion (Allium cepa L.) cultivars

The effect of storage temperature on the subsequent growth of onion setts and yield of market onions in short-day onion (Allium cepa L.) cultivars

Zahradnictvi 5/6(1/2): 115-122

Varieties were stored at 0 to -1, 3 to 4, 10 to 15 and 20 to 25 deg C. High temperature delayed sprouting and growth and prolonged the growth period by six and two days, respectively, in different years in Vsetana, ten and eight days, respectively, in Takii's Yellow Globe and 20 and 11 days, respectively, in Takii's Nonbolting Yellow.
