Abstract
For 84 American Brown Swiss (ABS), ABS X Karacabey Brown (KB), ABS X Swiss Brown, ABS X Austrian Brown, ABS X German Brown, and KB female calves, body weight, height at withers, chest girth, body length and circumference of the cannon bone were recorded at birth and at 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12 months of age. There were no significant differences among the breeds and crosses for body weight or measurements at birth, but from 2 months onwards the crossbred daughters of ABS bulls were larger in all weights and measurements than purebred ABS and Karacabey females.
