A review is given of the hypobiosis (inhibition of larval development) of Haemonchus contortus in sheep and of other gastrointestinal nematodes. The extent of hypobiosis varies greatly with the strain of parasite, the hormonal and immunological conditions of the host, geography, and many other factors.
