Vaccination of breeder chickens and their progeny with a live or with an inactivated oil emulsion infectious bursal disease virus vaccine

Vaccination of breeder chickens and their progeny with a live or with an inactivated oil emulsion infectious bursal disease virus vaccine

Developments in Biological Standardization 51: 251-261

Leghorn breeder chickens, which had received live infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) vaccine at 12 weeks of age and had been injected s/c at 20 weeks of age with an inactivated IBDV oil emulsion vaccine, produced very high antibody titres which persisted for at least 9 months and were more uniform than those obtained from fowls receiving only the live IBDV vaccine.
