Abstract
An increase in the intake of dietary protein by pregnant lactating crossbred ewes kept indoors in winter increased the growth of wool. In January, by increasing the level of dietary digestible protein to 25% above that recommended by the All-Union Inst. Animal Husbandry, wool yield and quality were consistently increased. Wool growth was greatest during the summer grazing period.
