For a flock comprising 306-404 Tsigai and North Caucaus Mutton-Wool (NCMW) sheep, and Tsigai crossbreds with 25 or 75% of NCMW inheritance, fleece weight averaged 3.39 kg at 10 months of age and 4.40 kg at maturity ( females only), and clean wool weight, clean wool yield and fibre diameter at 10 months 2.03 kg, 60.8% and 27.5 mu m resp. At 10 months, significant effects of year, genotype and sex were obtained for fleece weight, clean wool weight and fibre diameter, and of year on clean wool yield. At maturity, significant effects on fleece weight were obtained for year, genotype, age and litter size.
