In field trials in 1976-8 with cotton Godavari, the effects of 6 different spacings and 3 fertilizer N levels on yield were studied. The closest spacings of 60 X 60, 90 X 40 and 120 X 30 cm gave the highest yields of 0.90, 0.82 and 0.80 t/ha, resp.; 0, 40 or 80 kg N/ha yielded 0.62, 0.78 and 0.81 t/ha, resp.
