A controlled internal drug releasing device containing progesterone for estrus synchronization in sheep

A controlled internal drug releasing device containing progesterone for estrus synchronization in sheep

10th International Congress on Animal Reproduction and Artificial Insemination, June 10-14-1984, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Illinois, USA Volume III Brief communications (Paper 302): 3

In the 1st of 3 experiments, 12 ewes received, for 12 or 14 days, a controlled internal drug releasing (CIDR) device containing progesterone. Mean plasma progesterone increased from a basal concentration of 0.5+or-0.1 ng/ml to 4.8+or-0.8 ng/ml within 4 h of insertion of the CIDR device into the vagina, decreasing gradually to 1.7+or-0.3 ng/ml at the time of removal.
