A preliminary study on the genotypes for restorer and maintainer ability in restorer and maintainer lines of wild abortive type male-sterile rice

A preliminary study on the genotypes for restorer and maintainer ability in restorer and maintainer lines of wild abortive type male-sterile rice

Fujian Nongye Keji Fujian Agricultural Science and Technology (4): 22-24

Test crosses of restorer X maintainer lines showed that there are two pairs of genes controlling the restorer and maintainer functions, but that they are not necessarily the same pairs in different restorer lines. Three restorer genes have been identified, each with different effect: strong Rs, weak Rw and recessive r. Ss and Sw are maintainer genes. The 3 restorer and 2 maintainer genes are inherited independently.
