A preliminary study on the utilization of Yunnan local rice cultivars in a breeding programme

A preliminary study on the utilization of Yunnan local rice cultivars in a breeding programme

Yunnan Nongye Keji Yunnan Agricultural Science and Technology (1): 14-18

Observations on the progeny of 225 crosses between conventional dwarf indica types and Yunnan local varieties indicated that F2 segregation for tall : dwarf and red : green culm was 3 : 1 in both cases and for purple : white dehusked grain, 9 : 7. In crosses involving large-grained varieties, 19.6-38.8% of individuals were transgressive for 1000-grain weight.
