In pot trials on acid or neutral soils, finger millet was given the equivalent of 90 kg N + 45 kg K2O + 0, 30, 60 or 90 kg P2O5/ha as (a) superphosphate (18% P2O5, 16% water-soluble P2O5) or (b) Mussoorie rock phosphate (20% P2O5, 7.8% citrate-soluble P) and after harvest Phaseolus mungo H-21-40-14 was sown and given only 25 kg N/ha.
