Age at first lambing and lambing interval in Tabasco ewes in the humid tropics

Age at 1st lambing of 58 Tabasco ewes averaged 420+or-54.8 days, ranging from 392.8+or-52.5 days for ewes born in Feb.-Apr. to 481.5+or-52.8 days for ewes born in May-July. Length of 207 lambing intervals of 92 ewes on unimproved pasture, and running with rams continuously, averaged 220.8+or-40.9 days (160-352), the longest av. intervals (236.2+or-43.2 days) occurring after 1st lambings and the shortest (199.5+or-27.3 days) after 2nd lambings.
