A modified indirect haemagglutination (IHA), an improved indirect immunofluorescence technique (IFAT) and an indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were compared for detecting antibodies to Nairobi sheep disease virus in serum samples from 3 rabbits and 3 sheep experimentally affected with the virus, and 427 sheep sera from Kenya, 291 from Sudan and 50 from South Africa, and in 6 human sera.
