Abstract
In 2 growth trials a total of 1260 chickens were given from day-old for 38 or 42 days a plant diet based on soya bean oilmeal or diets with 7% bone meal or whole fish meal from blue whiting. On the diets with blue whiting bodyweight gains were 6.8% more and feed intake per kg gained was 3.8% less than on the plant diet. There was no significant difference between the diets with blue whiting.
